AMES, IOWA, July 13, 2021 — The Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau (Ames CVB) welcomes Carole Gieseke to the staff as Director of Marketing & Communications. Gieseke will be responsible for the leadership and direction for the marketing and communication strategy development and implementation.
Gieseke brings to the Ames CVB over 35 years of experience in strategic communications, most recently, as the Assistant Vice President for Communications and VISIONS Magazine Editor at the Iowa State Alumni Association. “I’m thrilled to be promoting Ames,” Gieseke said. “I’ve lived in this city for 24 years, and I love Iowa State University and the uniqueness of Ames. Working with the Ames Convention and Visitors Bureau is the perfect fit for me.”

The local travel industry annually welcomes thousands of overnight visitors and single-day visitors each year. These visitors annually account for $114 million dollars in direct spending in our community, through overnight accommodations, retail spending, dining, entertainment and travel expenditures.
The Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau (Ames CVB) is a member-based organization, supported by hotel/motel tax. The Ames CVB builds economic activity in the Ames area by recruiting visitors to the community for conferences, conventions, sports, group tours, special events and leisure trips.
