Heartland Senior Services of Story County Receives 2017 Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau Community Grant

Dancing with the Story County Stars, hosted by Heartland Senior Services of Story County, brings visibility and awareness of Heartland Senior Services programs to a larger population and serves as a fundraiser for Heartland Senior Services’ four programs: Adult Day Center, Activities, Nutrition, and Outreach. Community celebrities and their professional dance partners create a wonderful evening of dance, music, and fun competition! Dancing with the Story County Stars takes place on January 28, 2017. About the Ames Convention & Visitors Community Grant Program:

The Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau awarded $80,150 in funding on behalf of their Community Grant Program to assist local businesses and organizations in promoting and implementing 24 special events and programs in the Ames area for 2017. Each grant was awarded according to its intent to attract new visitors to the Ames area, enhance visitor experiences and improve the quality of life for area residents. With this latest addition of grant recipients, the Bureau’s Community Grant Program has awarded more than $550,000 to help fund nearly 230 events and projects throughout the area since its establishment in 2007.
