WinterFest is a weekend celebration of the winter season at Iowa State. WinterFest provides a unique combination of winter-themed events, activities, displays, and traditions to help students connect with the Ames community.
–Holiday Sale at University Book Store, 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
–Art Mart, noon-8 p.m. (glass, pottery, prints, jewelry, and more), MU Art Gallery
–President’s Winterfest Open House, 4-6 p.m., ground floor, Beardshear Hall — greet ISU President Wendy Wintersteen and her spouse, Robert Waggoner, and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate, apple cider, cookies, and ISU Creamery ice cream, plus music
– Face painting, 4-8 p.m., Campanile Room, Memorial Union
–Holiday crafts in the Memorial Union Workspace, 4-8 p.m. — make an ugly sweater ornament!
–Chair massages, 4-9:30 p.m., Room 3580, Memorial Union
–Photo booth, 4-9:30 p.m.
–Bowling and Billiards in CyBowl, 4-9:30 p.m.
–Yuletide Evening at the Farm House Museum, 5-8 p.m.
–Bingo, 5-9 p.m., Sun Room
–T-shirt Dog Toys and Fleece Blanket Making, 5-9 p.m., Memorial Union Cardinal Room — a service project that will benefit local non-profits
–Jingle Jog, 5:30-7 p.m., central campus — run in memory of Freshman Council member Andy Albright; proceeds go toward a memorial scholarship in his name
–Beverage sampling, 5:30-7:30, MU Market & Cafe
–Chili & corn muffins, 6 p.m., Memorial Union Pine Room, free while supplies last
–Cookie decorating and hot cocoa, 6 p.m., Oak Room
–Central campus carriage rides, 6-9:30 p.m., West Loop, Memorial Union — take a ride around campus on a horse-drawn carriage!

–Ugly Sweater Competition and movie showing: “Home Alone,” 7:30 p.m. (Durham Great Hall, Memorial Union) — bring a blanket for open-floor seating
