The Ames Parks and Recreation Department kicks off a new live music concert series with “Virtually Anywhere” concerts from the Ames City Auditorium beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14. The first performance features V Ellsbury who is preparing to release her new album “Rituals.” The concerts will stream live on YouTube and Facebook Thursday nights through the end of March. Livestream links and more information is available at https://www.facebook.com/amesauditorium/events
This newly created series will feature artists from around Ames and Central Iowa. Future concerts include performances from Matt Woods, Danny Grause, Evan Campbell, the Cherrypickers, and many others.
“By providing a livestreamed event, concert-goers are able to experience these artists and the beauty of our auditorium without having to leave their home,” said Ames Auditorium, Bandshell and Community Center Manager Craig Kaufman. “The pandemic has been difficult for live music performances, so being able to provide this platform for live music is a win for everyone.”
Optional virtual tickets will be available for purchase for those who choose to support this event and the artists performing. For questions or for more information about the Virtually Anywhere concerts, contact Kaufman at 515.239.5365 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org
