The Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau has launched an Ames community tour, a new mobile-friendly program that gives visitors an inside look at Ames.
To access the tour, users simply visit a dedicated mobile passport landing page to sign up for the mobile tour by providing their name, e-mail address, and mobile phone number. A link is then sent to the user’s mobile phone, which opens the community tour and directs the user to add the button icon to their home screen, where they can access it any time.
The tour was designed for Ames visitors, prospective students and their families, and the Ames community.
The tour begins at the Iowa State University Memorial Union and leads participants to Campustown, Somerset, Ada Hayden Heritage Park, North Grand Mall, Downtown Ames, Duff Avenue, The Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau, Reiman Gardens, Jack Trice Stadium, and Hilton Coliseum. The tour includes photos, written descriptions, maps, fun facts, and audio descriptions.
This project paid was for in part by the Iowa Tourism Office and the Ames Economic Development Commission.
