ACVB Welcomes New Communications Director to Staff
AMES, IOWA – The Ames Convention and Visitors Bureau welcomes Eve Lederhouse to their staff team to serve as the Communications Director. Lederhouse started in her official capacity on August 31 and is charged with planning, design and implementation of a comprehensive communication program to increase awareness of the CYtes of Ames and Iowa State University.
Lederhouse will direct the department responsible for organizational branding, media relations, member outreach and promoting Destination Ames and Visitor Services for the Ames Convention and Visitors Bureau, while also providing communications support for Iowa State University Conference Planning and Management and their clients.
With more than 20 years of related experience, Lederhouse brings expertise in corporate and non-profit public relations, marketing and advertising, as well as a professional certification in organizational management. Past experience includes serving as the Vice President of Chamber Operations and Communications for the Ames Chamber of Commerce, but most recently Lederhouse worked as the Marketing and Communications Officer for VisionBank of Iowa.
Bureau President and CEO Julie Weeks said, “We are excited to have Eve on board. She has great relationships in the community, brings communications expertise, and is poised to help bring the Bureau to the next level.”
“More than anything, she has returned to Ames [from the Chicago suburbs] and, in her own words, ‘loves promoting Ames.’ She is the perfect choice for our organization,” Weeks added.
The Bureau and ISU Conference Planning and Management work collaboratively to promote CYtes of Ames and Iowa State University, the official resource to all the sites throughout Ames and campus that make every visitor’s and resident’s experience in Ames positive and memorable. Prior to Lederhouse, Crystal Davis served the Bureau as the Communications Director, but has shifted responsibilities to be the Director of Destination Ames (Member and Visitor Services). Davis has been with the Bureau since 2015.
