Midwest Children’s Choir Festival receives Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau CYtes of Ames Community Grant

AMES, IOWA, April 18, 2017 – The Ames Children’s Choirs will host the Midwest Children’s Choir Festival in Ames on Friday, April 21. The Festival will feature performances by guest youth choirs and also feature select Iowa singers in grades 5-7, forming a mass choir of 400 singers. The Midwest Children’s Choir Festival is one of the most highly regarded youth choral festivals in Iowa. Funds from the grant will allow for targeted marketing efforts in print media. About the Ames Convention & Visitors CYtes of Ames Community Grant Program:

The Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau awarded $80,150 in funding on behalf of their CYtes of Ames Community Grant Program to assist local businesses and organizations in promoting and implementing 24 special events and programs in the Ames area for 2017. Each grant was awarded according to its intent to attract new visitors to the Ames area, enhance visitor experiences and improve the quality of life for area residents. With this latest addition of grant recipients, the Bureau’s CYtes of Ames Community Grant Program has awarded more than $550,000 to help fund nearly 230 events and projects throughout the area since its establishment in 2007.
