Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation Receives 2018 Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau Community Grant

Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation will present Hope Run for Hospice on Saturday, June 16, at the Ames Middle School. Hope Run for Hospice is a benefit run for the hospital’s hospice programs. The event encourages people of all ages to get fit, healthy and move! A 5K timed race, 1mile fun walk/run and a junior run for ages 10 and under will be offered. On-line registration and day of event registration is available. Grant funds will cover the cost of event participant t-shirts, allowing more profits to benefit the people the hospice serves. About the Ames Convention & Visitors CYtes of Ames Community Grant Program:
The Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau awarded $92,000 in funding on behalf of their Community Grant Program to assist local businesses and organizations in promoting and implementing 31 special events and programs in the Ames area for 2018. Each grant was awarded according to its intent to attract new visitors to the Ames area, enhance visitor experiences and improve the quality of life for area residents. With this latest addition of grant recipients, the Bureau’s Community Grant Program has awarded more than $630,000 to help fund nearly 254 events and projects throughout the area since its establishment in 2007.
