Iowa State Block & Bridle Livestock Shows Receives 2018 Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau Community Grant

The Iowa State Block & Bridle Livestock Shows will host the Cyclone Classic Cattle Show on March 17-18, at the Jeff & Deb Hansen Agriculture Student Learning Center, beginning at 8:00 a.m. The public is invited and welcome to attend.

The Cyclone Classic is the second largest jackpot cattle show in Iowa and has doubled in size in the last 3 years. This show brings over 400 exhibitors from 40 different counties in Iowa and 5 different states. People with cattle and agricultural backgrounds are expected to attend this event. Judges come from all around the country, including Texas and Kansas.

Iowa State Block & Bridle Club strives to promote club objectives and member success by promoting the Animal Science industry both on and off campus. This student led Cyclone Classic Cattle Show promotes the agricultural industry in a competitive atmosphere. Funds from the grant will be used to offset show expenses. For more information, visit

About the Ames Convention & Visitors Community Grant Program:
The Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau awarded $92,000 in funding on behalf of their Community Grant Program to assist local businesses and organizations in promoting and implementing 31 special events and programs in the Ames area for 2018. Each grant was awarded according to its intent to attract new visitors to the Ames area, enhance visitor experiences and improve the quality of life for area residents. With this latest addition of grant recipients, the Bureau’s Community Grant Program has awarded more than $630,000 to help fund nearly 254 events and projects throughout the area since its establishment in 2007.
