Iowa Sports Foundation receives Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau Community Grant

The Summer Iowa Games is an Olympic-style festival held each year over three weekends in July in and around Ames and the surrounding communities. The Athlete Jamboree is a family-oriented event designed to welcome and bring together athletes, families, volunteers, and community members.  Funds will be used to provide a fun and memorable experience, specifically to bring in national and local talent and interactive inflatable games. About the Ames Convention & Visitors Community Grant Program:
The Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau awarded $80,150 in funding on behalf of their Community Grant Program to assist local businesses and organizations in promoting and implementing 24 special events and programs in the Ames area for 2017. Each grant was awarded according to its intent to attract new visitors to the Ames area, enhance visitor experiences and improve the quality of life for area residents. With this latest addition of grant recipients, the Bureau’s Community Grant Program has awarded more than $550,000 to help fund nearly 230 events and projects throughout the area since its establishment in 2007.
