Friendship Ark Homes receives Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau Community Grant

Listed as one of The Ames Tribune’s “Top 5 Things to Do in Ames on the 4th of July”, the 13th annual 5! on the 4th! Race/Run at Ada Hayden Park is not to be missed! This event supports Ames residents with intellectual disabilities receiving services from Friendship Ark Homes. The event starts at 8am with a free kids run at 7:45am. Grant funds assist in covering event costs and allow more sponsorship dollars to go towards Friendship Ark Homes’ mission. For more information, visit


About the Ames Convention & Visitors Community Grant Program:
The Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau awarded $80,150 in funding on behalf of their Community Grant Program to assist local businesses and organizations in promoting and implementing 24 special events and programs in the Ames area for 2017. Each grant was awarded according to its intent to attract new visitors to the Ames area, enhance visitor experiences and improve the quality of life for area residents. With this latest addition of grant recipients, the Bureau’s Community Grant Program has awarded more than $550,000 to help fund nearly 230 events and projects throughout the area since its establishment in 2007.
