Run for the Roses is a 5K run/walk, 10K road race, and a kids run that is hosted by Alpha Omicron Pi and Ames Area Running Club. The Run for the Roses event features a post-race omelet breakfast, a rose for every runner, silent auction, door prizes, and organizers make a donation to a charitable organization. The races will be held at the Ames Middle School on October 8, with the race beginning at 9am. Funds from the grant will be used to advertise outside of Ames to increase event participation and add paid social media advertising. For more information, visit www.amesrunners.org
